Finding Time To Read

One thing I want to do more of is read.  I can’t seem to find the time.  People who I am most attracted to (not physically) seem to be reading a lot.  There is something about being a reader that makes you an interesting and growing person.  So, all of you, my friends who read a bunch, where in the world do you find the time and have a family simultaneously?  Needing advice…

  1. Since a child books have been one of the mainstays in my life and I can’t think of a better way to describe its impact on the fertile mind than a means to growth.
I don’t have children but I can share how I find time to read: (1) I eat lunch at my desk, while working, so I can devote my entire lunch hour to reading. (2) I’m a bit of a nightowl, so I usually end up reading until 2-3am on Friday & Saturday nights while Jess is sleeping. (3) I also find that if I’m allowed even five minutes of reading before I go to sleep during the week I feel like I’ve been fed.
Any minute I can get makes me feel better.

  2. You have to turn off the TV or designate a ‘reading night’ with your spouse. Or I have a few friends who read in bed every night from 10-10:30. But I know what you mean–i MISS reading like i did pre-kids.

  3. i eat books alive- can’t get enough and am LOVING the new Irvine (Katie Wheeler) Library. Have you seen it??? wOw.
Mornings- that’s a GREAT way. You have to sacrific sleep but if you get up early enough to do your studying, praying, etc., and go outside with some coffee and READ! That’s one of the best things God has ever put together: books, morning coffee and outside patio furniture.
